The above publications are only a few of the magazines that John Mairs has contributed to. Rental Living Magazine and Avenues Magazine are publications for the Irvine Company Apartment Communities and the Residents of those properties. At Home is a concept magazine that was pitched to the creative team as a proposal for the growing Avenues Magazine.

JM Designs was the sole design company affiliated with the El Toro Air Show in partnership with Paul Gavin and Associates. The program was a beautiful full color brochure with foil stamped cover. JM Designs worked closely with Paul and Kimberleigh Gavin to create posters, t-shirts, guides and programs form most of the United States Air Shows.

South Coast Magazine is published by Community Services Network, Inc. (CSN) and ultimately, CSN is where JM Designs originated. Brad and Rose Wright gave John Mairs his first design job with their publishing company and they taught John everything there was to learn about computer graphics and magazine layout back when "paste-up" and film was phasing out of the creative process. After working with CSN, John branched out and began working as a freelance artist for Brad and Rose, as well as for the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce.
